Alejandro earned his Law Degree at Anahuac University in Mexico City and has an MBA from the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain; he studied “Behavioral Finance” at Harvard Business School and at Wharton School of Management. Also, he is a PhD candidate in Strategy and Development at Anahuac University. As an entrepreneur, he is the Chairman of Sabino Capital, a private research and investment group.
Furthermore, he is the founder and Chairman of VIF Institute, an organization that promotes investment in Mexico and that works towards creating social awareness in the private sector. Together with his wife, they created the Fundación Legorreta Hernández, an organization that seeks to contribute to social development in Mexico. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Accival and Afore Banamex, as well as a member of their investment committees. Moreover, he participates in the board of Directors at the non-profit organization Mexicanos Primero and at Mexico’s National Oncology Institute. Abroad, he is a member of the Latin American Council at Georgetown University, of the International Advisory Board at Council of the Americas, of the IE Business School Fund, and the G50 Group. He also is the founder of the Legorreta Hernández Scolarship for journalism and public policy at CIDE.
He is a columnist at the national newspaper Reforma, Forbes, and the local newspaper Diario de Yucatán. He also is a professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana and Universidad Marista de Mérida.
